Define the position

Record connector interface, port count, panel thickness, cut-out size and the environment around the frame.

Match sleeve and polish

Pick ceramic or bronze sleeve, then confirm UPC or APC geometry and key orientation.

Check the loss budget

Add adapter insertion loss, return loss and cleaning allowance into the available link margin.

Test and label

Keep end-face inspection and loss records, then label every adapter position permanently.
